Our Doctors Are Among the Best
Fifty physicians who practice at the Indiana University School of Medicine and Clarian Health -- Methodist, Indiana University and Riley hospitals -- are recognized as top specialists in their fields in the 2005 issue of America's Top Doctors.
Indiana had 64 physicians recognized in the list. Of the Indiana physicians listed for this national award, 78 percent (50) are affiliated with the IU School of Medicine and Clarian Health.
Our Nursing Staff Is Nationally Recognized
Clarian Health received prestigious Magnet status in 2004 for its three downtown hospitals -- Methodist, Indiana University and Riley. The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) awards Magnet recognition for nursing excellence. Clarian was the first hospital system in Indiana to earn the nationally coveted Magnet designation.
The Magnet Recognition Program was developed by the ANCC in 1994 to recognize health care organizations that provide the very best in nursing care. It is based on quality indicators and standards of nursing practice, as identified by the American Nurses Association. It provides consumers with a national benchmark to measure the quality of care they can expect to receive at a hospital.
