What To Do If You Are Sued

Immediately notify CHRRG Claims Management by faxing, mailing, or e-mailing a
completed claim form and/or a copy of the
summon and complaint or proposed complaint.

Notify your practice group risk manager or office administrator.

Do not contact the patient or his attorney to discuss the claim.

Do not discuss the substance of the claim with your peers, office staff or
anyone else, other than CHRRG Claims Management and your assigned defense
counsel.

Sequester the patient's medical record, radiology, (pathology, fetal
monitoring strips and any other patient information) and store separately and
securely for safekeeping.

Do not amend, annotate, clarify, alter or discard the medical record or any
part of the medical record.

Do cooperate and assist CHRRG in securing and giving evidence, in attending
hearings, mediation, depositions and trial.
