LifeLine Participates in Mock Scene Response at Carmel High School

04/28/09

CARMEL, Ind. -- The unfolding of spring announces the arrival of prom season. Each year, thousands of Hoosier teens will attend this traditional high school event, and even though it is a time for celebration, students and their families should take the opportunity to discuss the consequences of engaging in risky and illegal behaviors.

Carmel High School, the Carmel Fire Department, the Carmel and Carmel Clay Schools Police Departments and LifeLine Critical Care Transport have teamed up to enact a mock car crash and scene response to educate the students about the serious risks associated with drinking and driving. LifeLines, the Carmel High School Students Against Destructive Decisions chapter, is sponsoring the event prior to the school's prom, which is scheduled for May 2 at The Fountains in Carmel.

Location: Carmel High School, 520 E. Main St., Carmel, Ind., 46032-2299

The scene will be set up along the trail leading from the football stadium to the high school, approximately 500 feet west of the intersection of Smokey Row Rd. and Keystone Ave.
