For years, patients have relied on us to handle the most delicate procedures, such as single- and double-lung transplants. We are the state's only government certified facility to offer lung volume reduction surgery, a procedure that removes a portion of an emphysema patient's diseased lung, opening the airway and allowing the lungs to return to a more normal state.

Our experience reaches back to 1989 when Methodist Hospital surgeons performed the state's first single-lung and heart-lung transplants and followed in 1991 with its first double-lung transplant. Clarian's Lung Transplant Program ranks among the largest by volume in the United States.

We also offer pulmonary rehabilitation, certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), a combination of exercise training, education and counseling that teaches you how to live a fuller life with your lung condition.
