Clarian West Medical Center invites the community to get on board for the first annual B&O Express 5K/10K Run and Walk on Saturday, September 12, 2009. All proceeds will go to the B&O Trail Association, a not-for-profit organization working to develop a recreation trail on the abandoned B&O Railroad in Hendricks County and beyond.

If you are interested in participating, we invite you to register online at the B&O Trail Association's website. Just scroll down toward the bottom of the page (under the B&O Express event logo) to link to the online registration. All participants must be registered by noon on Tuesday, September 8.
The B&O Express will include a 5K/10K Run and Walk, as well as a FREE Family Health Fair. Screenings available at the free Family Health Fair - which will be held on the campus of Clarian West in Avon - will include cholesterol screenings, glucose screenings and blood pressure screenings. In addition, interactive tips will be offered from experts with Clarian West Human Motion, and a "Kids Kaboose Fun Zone" - featuring Riley Hospital for Children's "Jump Kids Jump" program will be available.
Clarian West is proud to partner with the B&O Trail Association to highlight the importance of health, wellness and fitness in our community, and looks forward to seeing you at this exciting event on Saturday, September 12.

Route:
The Start/Finish line will be on Clarian West's north drive, off of Ronald
Reagan Parkway. Participants will head north on Ronald Reagan Parkway, crossing
over the future B&O Trail beneath the Parkway, whereupon 5K participants
will return to Clarian West. Those participating in the 10K will continue past
O'Reilly Raceway Park, making their way to the newly constructed B&O Trail
segment off of Raceway Road and through the Wynbrooke neighborhood before
returning to Clarian West.
The 5K course is flat, making it perfect for novice runners/walkers, and for experienced runners/walkers looking for a personal best time. The 10K route includes some inclines - a more challenging course for seasoned runners/walkers.
All proceeds from this event go to support the B&O Trail Association's development of the B&O Rail Trail.

Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age division (male and female). Gift certificates to the Athlete's Foot in Avon will be awarded to the top three OVERALL male and female runners (over age 20).
