A Statewide E-Newsletter from the Clarian Tobacco Control Center

Greetings:

My name is Hannah Thomason and I’m the Program Coordinator for the Clarian Tobacco Control Center. The Center received grant funds from Indiana Tobacco Control and Cessation to conduct trainings across Indiana for TAP/TEG and for Teens Against Tobacco Use (TATU). Many of you might be familiar with my name from correspondence, e-mails, or phone conversations.

Part of our responsibilities through our statewide grant are to also set up ways to connect with everyone in Indiana who has been trained in either TAP/TEG or TATU. In addition, Center staff already carry out many training and networking activities with smoking cessation programs across the state. We have created this e-newsletter as a vehicle to keep facilitators for TAP/TEG, TATU, or smoking cessation programs informed of resources, successes, and ideas that can help you continue to carry out this work in your community.

This newsletter is a first step in a long term effort in Indiana to set up and maintain networks of facilitators for tobacco use prevention and cessation programs and as a way to know that we want to help support your tobacco programs. You believing in these programs and continuing to find ways to make them happen will make the difference in whether or not a person in your community has the help and support needed to not become a user of tobacco.

Your questions, comments, and suggestions on how we can make this newsletter helpful to you are welcomed. Please contact me at: hthomason@clarian.org.

Thank you for all that you do every day on behalf of helping Indiana’s kids and adults to lead tobacco free lives.

Hannah Thomason
