Surgical Technologist

 

Surgical Technologists work in surgery suites of hospitals and outpatient surgery centers, in OB wards where C-sections are performed, in some emergency departments and in surgical supply rooms.

In this position, you would:

    • Prepare and clean the operating room for each procedure
    • Prepare and maintain a sterile field
    • Select and open sterile supplies for each procedure
    • Assemble, adjust and check non-sterile equipment
    • Operate the sterilizer and other equipment
    • Position and prep the patient
    • Assist the anesthesiologist
    • Apply dressings and prepare specimens for pathologic analysis

11 Months and Out Program: This position is one of three condensed programs that provide small classes and personal attention within an 11-month time frame for those who don't already have the necessary qualifications.

    • Surgical Tech Training - 11 months
    • Program starts - Every August
