Surgical Technologists work in surgery suites of
hospitals and outpatient surgery centers, in OB
wards where C-sections are performed, in some emergency departments and in
surgical supply rooms.
In this position, you would:
- Prepare and clean
the operating room for each procedure
- Prepare and
maintain a sterile field
- Select and open
sterile supplies for each procedure
- Assemble, adjust
and check non-sterile equipment
- Operate the
sterilizer and other equipment
- Position and prep
the patient
- Assist the
anesthesiologist
- Apply dressings
and prepare specimens for pathologic analysis
11 Months and Out Program: This position is one of three
condensed programs that provide small classes and personal attention within
an 11-month time frame for those who don't already have the necessary
qualifications.
