Pharmacy Technician

 

Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy departments in hospitals, large clinics, retail pharmacies and home health care agencies. In these positions, you would:

    • Assist the pharmacist to prepare and dispense medications
    • Receive written prescriptions and verify that the information is accurate and complete
    • Clean, maintain and operate automated dispensing equipment
    • Count stock and enter data in the computer to maintain inventory records
    • Compute charges and enter charge data in the computer
    • Operate automated technology and computer systems

11 Months and Out Program: This position is one of three condensed programs that provide small classes and personal attention within an 11-month time frame for those who don't already have the necessary qualifications.

    • Pharmacy Tech Program - nine months
    • Program starts - Every August
    • Application deadline – Mid-May each year
