Medical Technologist
 

In this position, you would:

    • Assist with laboratory testing on patient specimens
    • Provide information for diagnosis and treatment
    • Maintain records of performance and utilize independent judgment to generate acceptable test results
    • Assist with development and modification of procedures and assume additional responsibilities when appropriate

To become a medical technologist, you need to have:

    • A bachelor's degree in related science or a degree from an approved medical laboratory associate degree program, and you will need to become certified within 12 months of employment
    • In-depth knowledge of various laboratory techniques, procedures and quality control
