Medical Assistant

 

Medical Assistants work in outpatient settings such as physicians' offices, group practices and clinics, and in some outpatient surgery centers. In these positions, you might:

    • Assist with exams, procedures and treatment
    • Collect and process specimens
    • Perform routine diagnostic tests
    • Prepare and administer medications
    • Schedule, coordinate and monitor patient appointments
    • Process and manage insurance claims, receivables and payables
    • Transcribe physician's notes into permanent chart documentation
    • Prepare and maintain patients' medical records
    • Instruct patients in health-related issues

11 Months and Out Program: This position is one of three condensed programs offered at Clarian that offers small classes and personal attention within an 11-month time frame for those who don't already have the necessary qualifications.
